Over-Ear Headphones Concept
A product design study for a pair of over-ear headphones. A project focused not on engineering, but on form — shaping an existing technical solution into a product with a clear visual identity.
Objective:
Sometimes a client doesn’t come for engineering. They come for what completes it — form, emotion, the first visual spark. This project started exactly that way.
The client already had a working technical solution for a pair of over-ear headphones, but it lacked a clear visual language — especially for a younger audience.
The task was simple in wording, but complex in execution: to create a design that feels bold, expressive and immediately appealing to a 16–27-year-old audience. A product that people would want to wear — without asking what’s inside.
Insight:
For a younger audience, headphones are not just a device. They are part of an identity — a visible element of style, mood and self-expression. Which means the product has to communicate directly.
Through color, form and character — without hesitation and without trying to feel “too mature”.
Solution:
We chose a bold and vibrant color palette, built around a strong orange accent. The color became a key element of the product’s character — energetic, warm and slightly playful. It brings a sense of lightness and urban ease, making the object feel alive rather than technical.
But aesthetics alone were not enough.
Inside, the headphones contained an existing technical architecture that had to be respected. The design had to integrate seamlessly with the internal structure, allowing form and engineering to work together rather than compete.
This project marked an important step for us — taking a client’s technical solution and shaping it into a complete product with its own identity.
Result:
The result is a design that speaks the language of its audience — bold, emotional and expressive. Not a restrained hi-tech object, but a product that feels personal and wearable.
It demonstrates how external form can transform an existing technical solution into a cohesive, desirable product.
